Quick Hitter: Aid for Ukraine
Hey all,
Apologies for being a bit MIA the last few days. I have to be honest, Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine and attempted embarrassment of Zelenskyy on Friday really threw me. I also had family obligations on Saturday. I tried to write yesterday but was pretty depressed. Not that anyone asked, but that’s what’s been going on.
Anyway, I wanted to share some organizations where, if you are interested, you can financially support Ukraine. I got this paragraph directly from the excellent Thinking About… Substack from Timothy Snyder. If you don’t subscribe to his offering, I highly recommend it.
If you are thinking today about how to help Ukrainians, here are some possibilities: Come Back Alive, a Ukrainian NGO that supports soldiers on the battlefield and veterans; United 24, the Ukrainian state platform for donations, with many excellent projects); RAZOM, an American NGO, tax-deductible for US citizens, which cooperates with Ukrainian NGOS to support civilians; and BlueCheck Ukraine, which aims for efficient cooperation with Ukrainian groups and is also tax-deductible.
I am currently working on a pretty long piece, so keep an eye out.
