Quick Hitter: The President Calls for Political Violence

What’s this all about, you may be wondering? Who are these traitors that the President wants to put to death? What heinous crime have they committed?

Would you be surprised if I told you that it was a collection of Democrats who have raised his ire? Yes, a group of veterans and former intelligence officers recorded a video in which they explained that the US Military and Intelligence Officers took an oath to the Constitution, not to a person, and as such are allowed to disobey an illegal order. This is… entirely legal. This should not be a controversial topic.

Unless, of course, you are the President of the United States and may be considering issuing illegal orders. Or, perhaps, has already done so?

Remember just a few short weeks ago, in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk murder, how the GOP/MAGA crew was droning on and on about how the Left were instigating political violence with their rhetoric? How they needed to dial it down and lower the temperature, lest even more innocent Republicans are killed? Yeah, I remember too. Good times, those.

Of course it was bullshit. What we knew then is still the same now. It is nearly always the Right that is espousing political violence. The difference, of course, is that when you do see calls from the Left for violence, it is often extremists on social media or other such non-important folks. Today we are seeing it from the leader of the country, specifically targeting his political opposition.

To really hammer home the point, let’s consider Marjorie Taylor Greene. She has been who she is since storming onto the national scene in 2018. She has said and done disgusting things, sowing hatred and weaponizing rhetoric against the marginalized and the Left. And yet for 7 years she has been free to do and say these things without concern. Last week she and Trump had a very messy, very public divorce. Canks called her a traitor because she stood with the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and demanded the release of the files. Within one day Greene had to hire private security because she was being inundated with death threats.

From the Right.

Folks, this is not normal behavior. This isn’t “just noise”, as some of my family would have you believe. This is the President of the United States signaling to the most extreme of his cult following that specific Democrats should be executed.

Someone is going to get killed.
