A Couple of Classy Guys

I am going to try something new here. When I see something that really hits me a certain way, I am going to publish a quick note about it. While I have been harping on the fact that we can’t light our hair on fire reacting to every single bullshit thing that this admin does, I do think that certain things warrant at least a bit of notice. So I will use these Quick Hitters to talk about them. At first they will be emailed like my regular essays, but if this starts to be spammy, please feel free to let me know in the comments.

Let’s talk about Andrew Tate. I woke up this morning to see this gem:

If you are not familiar with Mr. Tate, he is likely another of Trump’s “fine people”. I don’t really want to go into all of his bullshit, but trust me when I tell you he’s a bad guy. He and his brother have had numerous issues with the law, specifically that they can’t keep breaking it. They have been in custody in Romania since late December 2022, but apparently T2.0, perhaps feeling the pain of a kindred spirit’s incarceration, have been pressuring the Romanian government to let the dual-citizenship (American and British) brothers come home.

Again, these are bad guys. They have a history of (proud) misogyny, sexual assault, kidnapping, human trafficking, and organized crime. In any rational time and place, the government standing up to a nominal ally and demanding the release of “men” like this would be a major scandal. In T2.0 it’s literally just Wednesday night.

Of course, given the makeup of Trump’s cabinet, perhaps he wants to put the brothers into a Deputy Secretary position.
